Good Evening, Visitors, Friends, and even Foes if they Dare Journey here!

Recently, I have started volunteering in Art at the Elementary School I volunteer at several days. Besides being an ecellent teaching experience, it has been so much fun. The teacher there taught me when I was in elementary school. Since then, her name has changed and so has her attitude about teaching... However, through all her complaining (which really isn't that bad) she still has her love for art. That love of art has sparked some creativity in me (check out my photography profile (see below) to see).

Anyway, I brought in my portfolio from my Teaching Elementary Art class, and the teacher got so excited. She even asked me to give her copies of certain projects she saw. So, I want to share them with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!!

Without further ado...

Creative Art Projects to Stir Creativity and the Imagination

1. Morphing Line and Shape
After folding a piece of paper and dividing it into 12 squares, create the initial pattern. It should include three lines and four shapes. Some suggestions for the twelve squares (remember though, this is your project. Be creative!): reflection of the pattern, change two shapes, morph it (make it melt, catch fire, etc…;), attach several shapes to lines, break the shapes and lines up, move the shapes and lines all around, double everything, make it bigger (losing some out of the box), scrunch it all together, make it separate (like the Red Sea), etc…
2. Finding Negative Space
Find five cupboards and three drawers within your home. Look at the objects within and draw the space around them. The finished product will be very abstract. Use this to connect lines then add pattern and color.
3. Shadowscape of Eight Objects
Take eight random objects from around you. Set them up as you would for a still life, all together. Take a flashlight and shine it onto the objects from one end to create shadow. Best if you are in a darker room with your own flashlight for drawing. Objective: draw only the shadows on the objects and nothing else. Make sure it is just the shadow and not what you think should be in the picture.
4. Triple Art Styles
Take three styles of art, such as: impressionism, abstract, realism, etc… and mix them together in one drawing. An excellent teaching tool to get students learning about different styles through history.
5. Self Portrait with Food or Objects
Think of 10-15 things that you like or describe you. It could a be a food, animal, flower, or hobby. Once you have your list, use these things to draw yourself in great detail. Make eyes, nose, mouth, torso, arms, legs, etc…
6. What’s behind the door?
Look at a picture of a closed door. What do you think is behind the door? Draw it. Use your creative imagination to make an awesome story of what is behind the door.
7. Personal Salvador Dali
Make a list of 15 nouns; then, add two adjectives to describe each noun. Using this list, create a scene (one such as Salvador Dali) with eight of the objects. They do not have to be to scale with one another. A cup can be twice the size of a car if you choose. Make sure all your objects look exactly as you described them.
8. Tell a Fairy Tale
Think of a fairy tale. Any one you choose. Then, make a list of twenty objects within that fairy tale. Make a complete and beautiful representation of the fairy tale using those twenty objects (every single one). Use creativity to tell the fairy tale through your drawing…

9. 25 Circles Creative Project -
Instructions:
Prep: Draw 25 circles evenly, but draw them so that they are barely seen. By the end of the project, you don’t want to see them.
1. Color shape(s) that you create inside 5 circles black and 4 other shapes in circles are multicolored.
2. 6 circles have more than one shape inside of them.
3. 4 circles contain shapes that show direction.
4. 5 shapes contain gradients.
5. There should be one circle left plain.
6. Use the new designs to rework the background by extending lines in shapes until they “hit” another shape and complete the page in color and repeated pattern=design.

I will post my attempts at tackling these pieces to my gallery! I know, it's crazy that I am actually posting some work...Trust me, I ain't too proud of any of it!
